Micheak shanks when he started out on stargate I was not aware of who he was but I was impressed that they found someone who was able to step into Spader's character so easily and make it his own. It slowly became his part his character. "James who?" I have followed the stargate series from beginning to end and infact I have bought everything pertaining to stargate. Except the first movie.
He was so young in the beginning but he was so good at his job.
I loved the character Daniel Jackson he was such a caring person, and Shanks made that quality very believeable. Everything he did while he was on stargate was done with great talent.
The episode "lifeboat" was what made me realize that he was heading for great things. He played that part so well, so believeable how many characters were there that he played in that one show? It was great. I have recently seen him in many different shows and parts, the man can do his job very well, give him a part any part and he can do it.
I would like to see him get something really great where he can show off more of his talents. Even if he was just acting, the thing is that is his job and he does his job with perfection.
With that being said, I would to stress how upset I was to see the show end. It was my all time favorite show. Before I was able to get my dvds I would tape each episode When I finally got my dvds I had over 100 tapes. Needless to say I like my dvds much better, but I saved my taped with the comercials and all. I loved the enteraction between Jack and Daniel to me, whether it be true or not, they were like real freinds. Daniel had a special thing with each person. This show showed us so much of the range that Micheal had and was capable of doing.
I hope that he and his family are proud of what he was doing, I was. I just saw him in Burn notice, loved it, even though he was not on there for long periods of time, he still carried it off with great conviction. Good guy bad guy it dosen't matter he's still micheal shanks and I will watch whatever he does. I was reading some of his posts the other day and I was shocked to see where he wrote one of the shows he had done was crap..No way was any thing that he has done could be considered crap and I hope he was just having a bad day.
If I have said anything that is not believeable then please let me know cause I have considered all that I have said before I wrote it. He's a very funny when he wants to be which leads me to believe he can do it all.
just wish he were on more, now that stargate is off I stay up late on the weekends and watch the reruns, even though I have the dvds I still feel like if it is on tv I need to watch those too. It's a loyalty thing.
Well I have said it all I think but you can bet if there is something else to come up I will be sure and let ya know.
I am from the south, Alabama to be exact and we do have a tendancy to go on and on when we feel something strongly so who knows if I am actually finished or not?
