CSI Miami - Gone, baby, gone - RECAP
PAINFUL - That is the first word that comes to our mind should someone ask us how we would describe this evenings' episode (which also was CSI Miami's 150th episode)...
We understand that sweepstakes-episodes are an important parameter for the show-runner. After mediocre positions (10/11) in the latest viwer-ratings CSI Miami desperately needs to attract viewers!! And what better "locomotive" than an episode about a kidnapped baby, a wayward father/spouse and truck-loads of family-drama inbetween. Oh, yeah...
Sadly, the only one who delivered a great performance in this episode was the actress who played the mother - Jill Walsh/Teri Polo. Her emotions and reactions were very believable. We are sure every mother would have acted that way.
The ongoing banter between ME Tara Price/Megalyn Echikunwoke and Eric Delco/Adam Rodriguez was juvenile at best. We could do without the constant back and forth. While Alexx Wood/Khandi Alexander was allowed to shine through interdisciplinary skills Tara Price seems to be more the superficial type. The actress and the role she is supposed to play just don't mesh. She is the least believable ME of the whole franchise.
The interrogation scenes were as shallow as always. Nothing new there. The actors were merely going through the motions. David Caruso as dull and uninspired as always. Good acting clearly looks differntly!
The car chase at the airport was run-of-the-mill-CSIMiami-material. Seen a million times before. Yawned at it a million times before. Even the flipping of the car with the baby inside did nothing to make this scene more interesting. It also begs the question HOW the baby could have survived the flipping of the car UNHARMED. Horatio Caine carrying the baby through the mist - plain ridiculous. And of course, robo-cop Horatio Caine/David Caruso had to kill the kidnapper. Even if what Rodrigo Sanchez/Mario Prado Jr did was plain wrong - there was no justification to shoot the man. The Horatio Caine of earlier seasons would have wounded but not have killed him.
Summarily, we would rate this episode a 4- on a scale of 10.
....last but not least season 7, episode 7.08 lacked - like so many episodes before - a Calleigh Duquesne/Emily Procter - Horatio Caine/David Caruso-scene Will we ever see one again? We won't be holding our breath.

Is anyone surprised she didn't like the episode?
Although, her high school yearbook style of writing stays consistent, I can't say much about her opinion; it seems to always miss the mark.
She still seems to be of the opinion that positions any lower than #1 in the ratings are less than acceptable. Which contradicts the very fact that she took the time to write a review at all. If it’s less than acceptable, why waste her time on it? Her only answer to that has been given by the writer is ‘because it’s fun to snark.’ Whatever that means.
I won’t even comment on the use of the word ‘locomotive.’ I’ll let someone else have fun with that one.
While I do agree that Teri Polo …did an excellent job, the writer of the review above has missed the mark again in comments designed only to anger by saying she was the only one to provide a good performance tonight. Emily Proctor was a little off in this episode but all in all, the entire episode was well done and the writer of the above review somehow either missed that, or is just trying to ‘rile things up’ and start arguments.
She uses words she thinks are going to anger some fans like 'mediocre' and such, but only prove to irritate as one is reading instead, rolling ones eyes wondering why she uses such words over and over.
And what’s with the “….at best” comments. Such as ‘juvinile at best’ and such? It could just as easily been said ‘this review by that blogger is high school yearbook quality at best!” But that would be untrue. I’ve seen yearbooks written a whole h3ll of a lot better than her reviews are.
“Yawned at it a million times before.” We know, and we still think the writer needs to see a doctor about those yawning problems of hers. It could be a simple cure, like say stop watching the things that make you yawn. If the writer refuses to see a doctor, then she should stop complaining about yawning all the time, shouldn’t she? Logic seems to escape her as well, but we’ve come to expect that, haven’t we?
“David Caruso as dull and uninspired as always. Good acting clearly looks differntly!” Makes you wonder what she’s comparing his acting to. That statement, although is an opinion stated as though it’s a fact, above is so wrong, I won’t even bother commenting on it.
“Horatio Caine carrying the baby through the mist - plain ridiculous.” But good enough to use as the picture accompanying the poorly written review.
“Summarily, we would rate this episode a 4- on a scale of 10.” Whose scale is she using? She said ‘we’? Is that an acknowledgment of the fact that the blogger of this little, poorly written and mediocre review has three names on this site alone, not counting all the other names she’s has elsewhere?
“Summarily” I would rate this review a 2 on a scale of 10. It sounds just like every other review she writes. Which can be summed up in two words: “It svcked.” Try that next time, blogger, instead of boring us with your less than mediocre writing style.
“....last but not least season 7, episode 7.08 lacked - like so many episodes before - a Calleigh Duquesne/Emily Procter - Horatio Caine/David Caruso-scene”
This comment suggests that the writer of the review did not actually watch the episode. One wonders then where she got her material for what she wrote. Other bloggers and reviews perhaps. Copy and past seems to be one of her strengths, so I wouldn’t doubt it.
