Episode Recap: "Ghostfacers"

Wow. Was that a long two months or what? This latest hell-atus is finally a thing of the past and we can now get down to the business of the remaining four episodes of this shortened season. I have to say I would have preferred if "Ghostfacers" (GF) had aired in the middle of a complete 22-episode season instead of what we got, but things happen. We don’t always get what we want. After a long hiatus, I would have preferred to jump right into the action and the angst and Dean’s deal and the whole Lilith vs. Sam showdown. But I will say this: I’m just happy that our show is back on the air with new episodes. "Ghostfacers" was a cool experiment – a funny homage to SciFi’s Ghost Hunters and movies like the Blair Witch Project. And it was great to see Sam and Dean from an outsider’s perspective.

It was also good to see Harry Spengler and Ed Zeddmore – the geeks from Season 1’s "Hell House." "Hell House" was the very first Supernatural that went strictly for the comedy. Oh there were plenty of laughs before – take "Phantom Traveler" for instance. But you show Sam and Dean pulling pranks and introduce two awesome yahoos like Ed and Harry and you’ve got instant comedy. This show has come a long way since then. It has often abandoned the formula in the name of entertainment. Eric Kripke and his writing team occasionally turn the show over to feature concepts like "Tall Tale’s" Weekly World News angles; or throw in something on a much smaller scale like breaking into the regularly scheduled recap in "Night Shifter" to cut to a Milwaukee bank robbery that just so happened to involve Sam and Dean; or even the way they paid respect to those holiday specials of yore in this season’s "A Very Supernatural Christmas." So it's no surprise that this whole "show within a show" theme worked really well.

GF was an episode I could just sit back and be entertained. I didn’t take many notes, but I totally found myself laughing out loud numerous times. It seemed like it was probably really fun to film. What I loved:

• The chaotic camera work.

• That it was a leap year ghost.

• Harry and Ed referencing the writers’ strike. Genius.

• All the bleeping that went on every time someone cursed. And then there were the tiny skull graphics that popped up at the same time. Hilarious.

• The GF Theme Song: Somebody please tell me what that theme song sounded like. I know I’ve heard something like it before, but I can’t place it. And we finally got Jared and Jensen to be part of an actual open instead of the usual 5-second Supernatural title page (which is awesome in its own right). I especially loved Dean flicking the camera.

• Even while our eyes were on the GF gang, you could hear the Impala arriving on the scene. Beautiful.

• I liked the dynamics with Harry’s adopted sister Maggie, Spruce and Corbett (poor Corbett!). Good for Harry, he got to hook up with Maggie.

• The music: Classic rock made a comeback to the tune of the Impala blasting Grand Funk Railroad’s "We’re an American Band." There was also a bit of a western-themed instrumental piece towards the beginning. It just reminded me of interviews where I hear one of the Supernatural cast or crew mention this show is part Western.

• The creepiest part was that birthday dinner full of dead people and Sam. That MOTW was a sicko freak, wasn’t he? And, of course, there was Corbett getting killed. When they ended the GF episode with his picture in memoriam, I was sad!

• The show’s credits were at the end; I totally forgot that we didn’t get that in the beginning.

• The entire episode I kept thinking how Sam and Dean were going to let the GF-ers get away with filming them since they’re supposed to be dead. So that ending where the Winchester brothers sabotaged everything was so cool. It put my mind at ease.

• The Ghostfacers bumps to break were also a nice touch.

• Poor Sammy had to wear a birthday hat.

• I loved when cranky Dean would just address the camera.

• When Harry was scared he sang the GF theme song. Awesome.

I just had one minor issue: When I really wanted to see more of Sam and Dean, we were forced to watch the GF gang. We were at the mercy of where they were pointing the camera. And except for a couple of times it was mentioned that Dean had two months to live, we didn’t have any quality Winchester conversations. I’m spoiled. That’s one of my favorite parts of the show. But I would have felt different had this been episode 13 of 22 instead of 13 of 16. We have precious little time left to this season; we haven’t had a new Supernatural in a couple of months; I missed Sam and Dean’s classic avoidance and abandonment issues.

Favorite lines:

"Listen here, chiseled chest!"

"Rats are like the rats of the world."

"We know you’ve had it hard during the crippling writers’ strike." "Lazy fat cats." "Who needs writers when you’ve got guys like us?"

"Ghost. Ghostfacers. We face the ghosts when the others will not."

"Good morning Ghostfacers." "It’s 7pm, dude." "It’s morning to a Ghostfacer."

"There’s some salt in my duffel. Make a circle and get inside." "Inside your duffel bag?" "In the salt!"

"Wow, you’re strong."

"Seriously. You’re still shooting?"

"All this time you were teaching us about heart and dedication and about how gay love can pierce through the veil of death and save the day."

"You know I think it was kind of half awesome."

"Don’t be Facer haters…"

One more thing: Did you catch the previews for next week? Um, the clock is ticking. I cannot wait. I’ve watched it four times already. Also, please add any great lines I may have forgotten.

I was so disappointed. This is the first episode of SN that I can truly say I disliked.
Where were Sam and Dean? The show was hijacked by those 2 fake ghostbusters. It was all about them.

And the way it was filmed was so annoying. A little bit of that style goes a long way. I was thrilled when they switched back to normal style then checked the time and realized they had wasted the entire show.

After waiting such a long time for a new espisode I'm still waiting.

I must admit to some initial trepidation when I saw the description of this episode: “Sam & Dean take a break to star in a reality show.” Just what are they taking a break from? Oh right, the PLOT. It seems odd that in the 3 episodes since Sam’s “we’ll find a way to save you” declaration, they have gone on a fruitless chase out west, vacationed in Florida and now found time to hang out with their stoner buddies from Season 1. What does any of this have to do with saving Dean? This just seems like another disconnected episode that has little to do with the overall season plot – aside from the random reference to Dean’s 2 months to live, it would be difficult to place this episode into context. I know that they haven’t had a lot of control of the schedule this year, but with half a season crammed into just 4 episodes, I wondered why they would use one of their few remaining ones to take (another) break.

That said, I did like the episode, and the leap-year connection at least explained the timing (as well as indicating when the episode was supposed to have aired – when Dean had months left rather than weeks). I had thought last summer that they should do an episode like Ghosthunters (the Roto-roter guys on Sci-Fi who scare themselves every week.) It was nice seeing our show from the outside, not getting the full story up front. The electromagnetic was a nice touch too – it really will screw up a computer. I guess the relative absence of the Winchesters for much of the episode made the filming schedule easier – but I wanted to see a little more of them and less of the ‘facers.

I was worried about how they would handle the character of Corbett though. I have noticed some latent homophobia sneaking into the show over the last couple seasons and was concerned to see how they would handle an actual gay character. (The jokes about Sam being effeminate or gay got old for me a long time ago. I usually chalk it up to Dean “overcompensating” or just being a jerk. I hope that it’s just part of his character, and not an issue with the writers.) I was really disappointed that Corbett was the first (and only) character to die – reminding me of the bad joke about how the black characters always got killed off early in the old horror films. But they managed to do a decent resolution, with Corbett saving the rest of them (albeit at the cost of his own life) so I can’t complain too much. In the end he was really the bravest of the bunch, the only one who didn’t run off screaming; hardly a stereotypical gay character. (Plus he was cute.)

So I have a mixed review – I liked the episode, I just don’t like when they did it. It’s nice to see them experiment and try something new, but they should have done it in the middle of a season with 10 episodes to go (as planned), not wrapping up a problematic season that already lacks focus. It seems like next week’s episode might run two plot lines together because they didn’t have enough time to do both. Was this really a good way to spend a quarter of the remainder of the season? I think the writers just really liked this episode and decided to do it regardless of its effect on the schedule. At least we’ll finally get back to the uberplot next week.

Obligatory questions:

Why is Dean so vulgar on this case compared to all the others? I guess the ‘facers bring out the worst in him.

If the house’s owner died in the 1960s, there have only been about 10 leap days when people could have disappeared. Sam’s list seems rather long for such a limited amount of time, unless there are tours coming by every few years.

If so many people have gone missing, wouldn’t the police have searched the house at some point? How did they miss the bunker full of bodies in the cellar? It didn’t seem that difficult for them to find.

Sam and Dean had no problem interacting with the death echo in Road Kill, so why are the ones in this episode oblivious to them? The presence of the bodies might explain their appearance at the house but since those people did not die at the same time, why would they be linked into the February 29 cycle too?

Why couldn’t they find Corbett and Sam from their screams? It’s not like they were in another dimension – they were just under the house a few feet away.

I agree with you in that the placement was off for this episode. It would have been better left to next season, or earlier in this one.

I enjoyed this one but it didn't feel like I was watching Supernatural. I know that was probably the point with their whole "show within a show" bit but we've waited 2 months for a new episode and I would have preferred it to have been an episode of Supernatural and not one of "Ghostfacers", with Sam and Dean guest starring. They were more or less reduced to the supporting roles and I didn't like that.

The Facers were funny. The acting was good. The death of Corbett was gruesome and sad. We had classic rock. We had bleeping. We had no Ruby and Bela. All should have been right with my Supernatural world but I ended up feeling a bit cheated. I mean, it shouldn't take 15 minutes to get the Winchesters into the action, dammit! lol.

So, yeah, just a bit too much Ghostfacers for me. I had thought the show would start off Ghostfacers heavy but I expected it to swing the other way at some point and the focus would be more on the boys. Still through the Facers cameras but clearly focused on the "real" ghost hunters and yet it remained "The Ghostfacers Show", with Sam and Dean there, too.

So, while I enjoyed it well enough, I would have preferred an episode that would have helped to continue (or get us back into) the momentum of the deal storyline that they're about to bring to a head.

Tina -- I got up early to read your blog. I envy you and your job, seriously. :) You always do such an amazing job with these blogs (oh, and I still have your interview with JP on my list of to read). Thank you for your time and your effort.

Hugo -- your insight is fantastic. You approach the episodes with such a clean eye (where I survive on emotional fuel), and I admire that. For example, the 10 year time span -- would NEVER have thought of that. My biggest hang up was that it seemed as though they just left Corbett's body there... I didn't blink at the rest of the stuff you brought up -- good on ya!

Okay, so one of these days someone is going to point and laugh and say "Gaelic, you can't love ALL of them..." And I will raise a brow and cross my arms Ruby-style and emphatically disagree. There is something to love about every stinkin' one of these episodes, and often times several somthings! Knowing this storyline had been planned before the strike, I figured it'd be a fun way to fold us back into the mix before dragging us down into The Deal and then stomping on our hearts with The Most Evil Of All Cliffhangers.

The heart-stomping is going to kick in to high gear next week by the look of the previews. Guh, the way Dean says "Dad..." and the "how could you do it..." But I digress.

I expected this would be like that episode of the X-files where the COPS crew followed Mulder and Scully around, and while it was, it was also a lot more like an episode of The Office. Hilarity and mayhem ensued to create a ruckus that our heros had to work around.

I mean, seriously, for a bit there, it felt like they were herding cats...

It's hard to gush specifically about Dean--or Sam--as I usually do because of the way this played out, but even with the hap-hazard style of filming, they both looked good. GOOD. I mean, *sighs* I MISSED these boys.

Ed and Harry's tuxedo-suited Mystery Science Theatre 3000 opening was hilarious, and I loved that they were able to weave in a snark about the "cripling writers' strike." The "Ghostfacers" intro was catchy. Dammit. I think I'm still humming it. I loved that they put Sam and Dean in there. Like you, Tina, I didn't even register that we hadn't seen the actual SHOW credits until they ran at the very end. Clever, that.

I loved Spruce. What was he... 15/16 Jew and 1/16 Cherokee? Funny as hell. Loved the Grandpa or Uncle or whatever with the peyote (sp?) addiction. The whole attitude and manner of the GF team was hilarious -- that's what reminded me of The Office. How they took their job so seriously but obviously had NO idea what they were talking about.

OH! And then when the Impala showed up -- "American Band" NICE! Loved that they were able to weave in the music. Even the music for setting up the "eagle's nest" was rockin'. I tell you, Ed had some great corny one-liners:

"Spin the tires and light the fires" -- big movie buff, there, Ed? Oh, and how about "calm the whirlwinds of your mind." HA! Harry's rat freak-out had me in tears. That was the biggest girly-scream since... I don't know when. But I loved that one of the Facer's had the same squig about rat's as our boy. Speaking OF!

Can I say that I loved that they had dirty mouths? Is that bad and wrong of me? And real! I mean, Dean was dropping F bombs right and left after Sammy got taken. It just... it felt like what the guys would really be like. Raised by a Marine, no real female influence, in a situation that was not ideal, yeah. That worked really well for me.

Dean slamming Ed against the wall demanding to know where his partner was... Dean just getting all muscley and up in their faces... Dean just... Dean.

Sorry, where was I? Right. Harry and Maggie seeing the death echo gave me slight goose bumps, but his "OMG OMG OMG" freak out had me in tears of laughter once more. I'm way too easy to amuse, apparently.

I really liked how they subtly wove in the timeline with Sam's frustrated reminder that Dean had two months left. And the fanficer in me imagined all kinds of suppressed frustration and rage inside of Sam when he was beating against the sealed door because they couldn't get out and Dean had wanted to hunt the Morton house on his last Leap Year. Gulp.

Loved Dean's "Wake up! Be Dead!" and "An optimist!" when he saw the survival guide. Hee.

Watching this through the GF team's eyes, I could really appreciate the way neither brother could get why looking at this life through the lense of the camera made the Facers feel safer. When I was young, I thought the covers on my bed were not only bullet-proof, but could repel any sort of monsters in the dark. Watching a scary movie through the slits in between my fingers protected me. But our boys...yeah, they never had that innocent, naive sense of protection. So no wonder they looked at the Facers like they were friggin' nuts.

For the Winchesters, this is not a game. This is not "money in the bank." This is not thrilling or an adrenalin rush. This is life and death and simply the way things were. There isn't any going home and putting the equipment away. There isn't any "eagle's nest." There's just them, and the hope that they can figure it out fast enough to dodge the next proverbial bullet.

Sam's vanishing was really nicely confusing -- I couldn't tell exactly what happened, and I'm not really sure why Corbett got dragged away and Sam went all Magician Act on us, but it was enough to elicit that bellow of "SAM!" from Dean that just gets me in the gut.

Now my internal fanficer is imagining the guilt slamming into Dean because he wanted this hunt and now Sam is gone and people die in this place and he's gotten his little brother into a situation where he was taken by a homicidal ghost and, dammit, he has to find him because he's only got two friggin' months left!

My grin faded when poor Corbett was killed -- mainly because of Sam's plea of "Corbett, stay with me, no, no, Corbett, stay with me..." Guh. Poor Sam! His need to save people manifests in different ways than Dean's, but every time it appears, he breaks my heart.

LOVED Dean figuring things out -- when he was searching through the Janitor's stuff and started saying "He was scared" I was like BOMB SHELTER! Ta-da! I was right! Go me! I know it was a tense moment and death was pending and all, but when the ghost put that party hat on Sam, I giggled. His bitchface in that moment was priceless.

Oh, and Dean instructing Ed, Harry, and Maggie to make the circle of salt and get in it and Harry's all... "in your duffle bag?" LMAO. That was just so well timed.

All in all, it was simply a pleasure to have the guys back, see them be just guys, remind us what it's like to live a life facing down evil -- real evil, not the GhostHunters kind of evil that you can see on A&E. Next couple of weeks are going to be so full of angst that it may suffocate us, so I appreciated this bit of light-heartedness and "reality" TV.

Shoot -- I'm just glad Ed and Harry lived. All the good guest stars (except, thankfully, Bobby) have been killed off! Long live the GhostFacers!!

Slainte.

Gaelic -- I'm with you. I loved the ep! I was so happy to have a new ep - it didn't matter that we didn't jump into the angst. Next week will defintely do that ------- That's it Dad, heap some more guilt on Dean!! That's all he needs. I know I'm going to be wanting to hurt someone next week for making Dean feel even worse - but I digress.

Dean swearing is true to nature. And fun to watch. Dean's not big on social manners and your reasoning is right. A marine father raising 2 sons in such an unconventional method. Doubt the "we don't swear" lecture ever came up.

Sam with that hat -- priceless. I also loved the frustration in his voice and action. Only 2 months left (gulp) and this is "their grand canyon". That was an interesting line.

The ghostfacers. Love them! I left the room singing that song and doing the "1, 2, 3 GHOOOOSSSTT FACERS! with appropriate gestures.

I was so sad about Corbett. He was sweet and the last scene of him was touching.

Dean does play that music loud doesn't he. I love that we know our boys are around without even seeing them. Just the rumble of that wonderful car and we are happy!

Fun ep -- I'm ready for the angst -- that kind of nervous anticipation. He's going to make us go nuts isn't he!

OMG!!!!
I loved the episode!
I laughed so hard! And then I felt so sad when Corbett died. He was so cute and sweet...

An apart from the quotes already mentioned, I want to add the one at the very end, when the music ended and it faded to black:
"Daddy's money in the bank!". LOL!!!!!!!!!

WORST

EPISODE

EVER

I was thrilled when it was over. Sad-because I REALLY like the show Ghost Hunters, but this was embarrassing and pathetic.

I was really glad this show didn't feel like a full spoof of Ghost Hunters which I love - I was instead reminded of that awful Celebrity Paranormal Project that was on for a while.

Showing my age, my first thought on hearing the GhostFacers theme was, "Was this done by Wyld Stallyns?" And when Harry tells Ed something along the lines of, "You go be gay for our poor dead intern" what went through my head was, "I love my dead gay son!"

I found the jiggly camera work really disruptive and a little nauseating, but at least it felt real, I liked how they filmed the MOTW in those random shots. But during the commercials I had to focus on something other than the TV to get my equilibrium back!

I also like seeing Sam and Dean from someone else's point of view every now and again - and who knew, Dean's got a potty mouth? *grin* NOT a shock, I've always figured he cusses enough to make sailors blush. And I loved how Sam had done ALL his homework on the house, while the GhostFacers clearly had not done enough.

Corbett's death did bring the episode down for me, even though he saved them all in the end. I just felt that was too much of a downer in the episode.

Lovely gratuitious shots of the Baby - the Metallicar for those who aren't familiar with my term of affection for the car. Loved there was music again. LOVED that there were no signs of Ruby or Bela. LOVE LOVE LOVE when Dean shouts, "SAM!" in that all-business voice.

Overall I liked the episode, but I wouldn't say it was a favorite.

I thought this episode was funny. I loved seeing the geeks again and I know everyone is anxious to get into the angst of the season with Dean's deal and all, but I thought this episode of levity was aptly placed. It came after a long hiatus and instead of killing Jared/Jensen with a harsh schedule, they let them ease into it. I mean it's a short season and the next few weeks are going to be hard on them, so I thought it was considerate to have the first eppy back not have them work so hard. We're in for a heartbreaking 3 wks and with a 4th season, you know we're getting a monster cliffhanger..so a long summer it will be. It was nice to ease into their return with laughs and there were a few laughs. Loved the bleeping, guys talk like that, it was real. Sam can break your heart one second and then have you laughing the next...Sam in the party hat..a kodak moment. There were some awesome lines...my favorite was from Harry who said to Ed.."now you go be gay for the dead intern."...I laughed my butt off with that one. The episode wasn't the greatest, but certainly not the worst. It was fun. It was light..the calm before the storm. It had funny lines and bleeping..just fun....but now fun's over...time for the angst to begin...get the tissues out!

Tina - missed you! Soooo glad we have 4 weeks of awesome re-cap goodness.

I liked this eppy - A LOT! For one, we got to see the boys as they would be if their dialogue wasn't written for network television. Dean isn't suddenly vulgar. In "real" life, he probably swears quite bit. Sam drops a few choice words, too.

The gay intern scene was great and who doesn't love a cranky, anxious Dean looking for Sam?

Next week, though, looks like a doozy! *gulp* We may need tissue!

This one's easy. Ditto to just about everything except the "love it" comments. Liked it. The teaser was my fave part and you know it's not cuz I'm a big ole angst whore. {grin} I liked the 2nd Trickster episode better than the 1st but I liked Hell House better than this one for some reason. Probably, as noted, the Winchester-lite and miniseason timing aspects played into that.

Specifics:
Engine rumble & music entry - check
Exit credits - check
Smart GadgetDean - check
"Sam?!" - check
Bomb shelter - check
Duffle bag - check
Ghostfacers intro cast credits complete with scrambled hand gesture - check

I enjoyed the small touch that it took everyone a while to recognize each other. Did Ed an Harry not remember the pranks the guys pulled on them last time tho'?

Have to give "Grand Canyon" it's own blurb even though it got mentioned. Ah... the things we want vs. the things we think we want. Besides the frantic "Sam" calls, I found "Grand" and "Canyon" to be the two highest impact words of the episode. I hope Dean actually makes it to the Grand Canyon one day. Then again, maybe in the series finale it's gonna get mentioned that they've still never been there {grin}.

As for Hugo's Q's:

I doubt the boys swore more with the Ghostfacers. I imagine TeamSPN think it would be distracting/irritating to have to bleep things out several times an episode so they don't write the bleeping dialog {grin}. They made an exception for this 'reality show' within a show.

We don't know that all the dissappearing acts happened as solo events/tours. Just like the Winchesters and the Ghostfacers arrived independently, others could have too.

The cops probably never found any evidence of foul play when they came to the house so they had no reason to believe bodies were 'burried there'. Initial searches were probably pretty cursory. Importantly (and related to the above), we don't know for sure that all the disappearances the boys tied to the house were also tied to it by the cops. They probably were not all locals who disappeared. In Road Kill & Scarecrow, travelers were disappearing and the timing was key to John and the boys tying folks together. Maybe missing persons reports were filed in different jurisdictions and none of the investigating cops/detectives made the scattered leap day connection or, in turn, the house connection.

The death echo issue was actually addressed. It's hard to "reach" a looping spirit. In Road Kill the spirit was actually *looking* to connect with someone... anyone. Besides which, she wasn't actually a true death echo unless she survived the crash and had enough strength to wander up the slope to the road to look for help. She wasn't stuck just because she 'couldn't get past' her own death. Part of why she was stuck was because Greeley (?) was holding her there in order to exact his revenge. At least I got the impression somehow he was playing a part in keeping her there. If not, the other points still apply.

Why were the death echos tied to leap day? Not surprisingly, I'm not sure about some of the details of the case. I'm guessing this BigBad here was a leap day baby. He was lonely and brought corpses home from work... maybe all 3 (?) toe-tagged folks at once or maybe one a leap year for 12 years. But presumably he brought fairly... fresh corpses... no funeral/burrial. So the death echoes may well have died on the day before leap day. (The gunshot & train vics appeared before midnight, correct?) After our BigBad died he couldn't take already dead folks from the hospital anymore BUT live folks kept dropping by to poke around his house, so he created leap day victims to recruit new partygoers.

Uh... as for Sam & Corbett screaming... well, it was a bomb shelter. The walls are presumably thicker/denser/stronger than the rest of the house. We heard Corbett screaming as he was being dragged, I think, but they couldn't find him before the screaiming stopped when he got to the shelter.

Taken on it's own merits, I enjoyed "GhostFacers". It was a fun, but not a tremendous episode. I really felt sorry for Corbett, and was actually annoyed when he died. I know they needed him to die in order to make the ending work, but I would have been happier if our guys had performed their usual magic and tied things up on their own. Not that they were shown to be incompetent in this episode, but I'm really over them having to be saved every other episode. It seems like that's the major theme this season, that the boys are helpless and can't dig their way out - I get it, but that's neither the characters nor the show I fell in love with. Give it a rest, already. Also, with the shortened season, I really wish they hadn't gone with this episode. We're wasting valuable screen time on not even secondary characters, and the writers have wasted enough time this season.

This season has been weird for me, because I don't think the writers have any idea of where they want to go with all the awesome things they introduced. It's the combination of lack of direction and too many balls in the air, none of them really being addressed. They've been harping on the mytharc (which is fine), but they haven't actually *advanced* it. They've just harped on it. Over and over again. Every episode, I feel like I'm being hit across the head with a bat. Just like they harped on Dean's "Well, I'm going to die anyway" mentality. Also, the boys have been kept emotionally apart for too long, and I think that the new characters just added to the distraction. Ruby kinda/sorta has a place (I think) in the mythology (not really sure, since there's no real direction the writers seem to be moving in), but Bela really doesn't. In the previous seasons, the beginning half of the season moved a little slowly, with everything speeding up toward the end. But even with the slow movement and mix of episodes, there was *movement*, and you knew that there was a goal. That momentum has been lacking this season, and the fact that we lost the entire back half of the season hasn't helped. I actually resent that they're wasting what little time we have left of the season to something that isn't going to move the mytharc and story of our boys forward. Because I know we're going to end up wasting time on RuBela, and we simply don't have much time left. I want movement, but I don't want Kripke et. al. to simply cram a lot of stuff down our throats, either. It's a balancing act, and it's been off this season.

Anyway, some thinks I liked about this episode:

1) Music! Classic Rock Music! Yeah!
2) Electromagnet - I got the feeling that it was one of Dean's inventions, and I love even a hint that he's smart and clever, and not just the brawn of the operation.
3) When Sam disappear, I actually "Eepped", and thought to myself, Dean is going to tear this place apart with his bare hands.
4) Dean's growly "Sam!" That always gets me.
5) The little GhostFacer symbol appearing over Sam's and Dean's mouths when they swore, along with the bleeping.
6) The growl of the Metallicar, then hearing the music, before the boys appeared.
7) Maggie, explaining Ed and Harry's first meeting and their "Geek Love".

Im not really new but I haven't done this in awhile due to being real busy. This episode wasn't great but I did enjoy it. In all honesty I was just happy to see the boys AGAIN! Thats what makes any episode good for me. When Dean yelled SAM it just brought back memories of how they call out for each other when they are separated and it cuts to commercial. Corbett being a semi spirit and seeing the good gushing from his stab wound in the neck was kinda disturbing. I was lmao when Dean told them to make a circle of salt and they just couldn't get it. THAT WAS CLASSIC! Finally, I LOVED HOW I COULD HEAR THE CAR RUNNING AND COMING FORWARD AND KNEW IT WAS JUST A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL WE WOULD SEE THE BOYS! Maggie and the whole romance thing was a little weird but it wasn't the worst. Next weeks episode looks like it will throw us right back into everything and so I can't wait. BDW is goin 2 b very important to it. Only 3 eps now

I loved it! I agree the episode should have come sooner in the season but it was still fun to watch. Now it's time to get down to business! I don't want Dean to die and I can't wait for next weeks episode to find out how his Dad is going to save him. Wishful thinking? Maybe.....but I hope not.
I love the Ghost Hunters too and sometimes it's nice not to take ourselves so seriously all the time.
