Today's Vee Blog
Hi all!
I missed most of the fun yesterday (darn van, grumble grumble, a/c out again, grumble-OK, I feel better), so I figured I would get today started. Found this quote, and I actually have a cross-stitch scene with these same words.

We've never seen our Vee, few have actually heard her voice, but we really, truly feel her in our hearts. We love you Vee! We hope and pray you continue to get better!

Kris - you angel you - Good Morning.....thank you for starting the day off with this RevVee post.
My father once said at a family gathering at Thanksgiving, "God, please bless this family, for without family there are no blessings." And that is how it feels here......like family. A God deal, really. RevVee....we continue to pray for you and love you and consider you our own. Or maybe it is the other way around....we consider ourselves yours. And we are proud of you....your good fight and bravery and steadfastness.
Hug and kisses......Zia

'Morning Kris! How's yuor car? Hope it's doing better than my spelling.
'Morning Zia!
And Good morning Big Sis! Don't forget to eat up all your oatmeal! Pretend Denzel's feeding it to you.
I've got this song stuck in my head. Not necessarily a bad thing because it's by my favorite band.
If I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) I'd buy you a house (I would buy you a house) If I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) I'd buy you furniture for your house (Maybe a nice chesterfield or an ottoman) And if I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) Well, I'd buy you a K-Car (A nice Reliant automobile) If I had a million dollars I'd buy your love
If I had a million dollars I'd build a tree fort in our yard If I had million dollars You could help, it wouldn't be that hard If I had million dollars Maybe we could put like a little tiny fridge in there somewhere You know, we could just go up there and hang out Like open the fridge and stuff There would already be laid out foods for us Like little pre-wrapped sausages and things
They have pre-wrapped sausages but they don't have pre-wrapped bacon Well, can you blame 'em Uh, yeah
If I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) Well, I'd buy you a fur coat (But not a real fur coat that's cruel) And if I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) Well, I'd buy you an exotic pet (Yep, like a llama or an emu) And if I had a million dollars (If I had a a million dollars) Well, I'd buy you John Merrick's remains (Ooh, all them crazy elephant bones) And If I had a million dollars I'd buy your love
If I had a million dollars We wouldn't have to walk to the store If I had a million dollars Now, we'd take a limousine 'cause it costs more If I had a million dollars We wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner But we would eat Kraft Dinner Of course we would, we’d just eat more And buy really expensive ketchups with it That’s right, all the fanciest ke... dijon ketchups! Mmmmmm, Mmmm-Hmmm
If I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) Well, I'd buy you a green dress (But not a real green dress, that's cruel) And if I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) Well, I'd buy you some art (A Picasso or a Garfunkel) If I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) Well, I'd buy you a monkey (Haven't you always wanted a monkey)
If I had a million dollars I’d buy your love
If I had a million dollars, If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars, If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars I'd be rich

Morning Famin! Car's better, for now anyway. So since that's been bringing me down a bit, I figured what better way to lift my spirits than to blog with you guys! I don't recognize the song, but fun lyrics!

It's probably the most famous song by Barenaked Ladies. Most Americans aren't familiar with BNL's early work because when they think of BNL they think of One Week. But I will always love Million Dollars! First time I saw BNL in concert was at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. It's an old theater with red curtains and ornate gold cornerpieces and whatnot. And this was way before One Week came out so the people in the audience were all huge BNL fans already. That's the first (and probably last) time that I ever saw the fans throw macaroni and cheese at the band during the "we wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner" line (apparently they used to do this at every concert until the band asked them to please stop). It was so memorable--the air in the theater turned orange with all the cheese packets in the air!

Good morning, Kris! Great job on showing some love this AM. I have plenty of car drama myself these days, so I empathize wholeheartedly....
Fabulous Famin, I don't believe I've "talked" to you this week. I hope you are feeling much better with no migranes!
To Dear RevVee: God most certainly has His hands upon you. Faith may sometimes waiver, but you are a living testimony of His healing. I continue to pray for your strength & recovery. We are blessed to have an angel in our midst, & her name is Vee.
Hugs to you!

Good morning, everyone!
First off, Kris, I'd appreciate it if you could tell me what your quote says. I'm assuming it's a Photobucket image because I can't see it - but I'd like to know what it says!
Second, I'm letting ya'll know now that I'm popping in to say "hi" and give my thoughts to Vee, then I'm outta here! I spent WAY too much time playing yesterday and really ignored my work so I must get work done today! I'll try to come in later, some time in the afternoon, to catch up on the hundreds of comments that will be here by then!
Kris, I'm so sorry about your van! I have a station wagon that is a 1989 and I have many problems with it. So I can, to a certain degree, feel your pain! How far away from a new car are you? I'm somewhere between two and three years, myself.
Famin, I hope that migraine of yours is all gone!
Vee, I save the best for last! I hope you're having another wonderful day full of appetite and joy. Knowing my luck you'll pop in here again like yesterday and I'll miss you again! But I'll still be happy if I see your name in the comments showing that you were here! Take care, sweetheart, and know that we're all here for you however you need us!
Thanks for posting the blog for us today, Kris! One of these days I'll do one too but it's got to be a day when it will be okay to ignore my work for most of the day!

Hi IG! The quote says this:
The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart.
As far as the van goes, if we knew 2 months ago how much we had to put into it, we would've ditched it. But as it is I've probably got a couple more years.
Famin-shame on me! I forgot to ask how you were feeling today. Migraine gone? I certainly hope so. It sounded like a nasty one.

Morning Rev! Don't forget my offer to give you a break and take your spot with my big feet. Maybe no one will notice and you can do something fun for a change!!! I hope you're feeling well and that they let you eat something soon.
Morning everyone.

Yes, thank you DG, Kris, and Iggy! I'm feeling much better now, just tired. I almost always have a migraine on Monday or Tuesday. I think my body just can't take the change in schedule after the weekend!
Good luck with your work, Iggy! I feel your pain!!!
That heart/dictionary pic is tres cool, DG.

Kris - thank you so much for kicking us off today!! Isn't it the truth - what you feel lasts so much longer than merely the memory of what you saw?
Famin - my favorite BNL is with Sarah McLaughlin (one of my favorites) singing the Christmas Carol "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen". It's on my Christmas play list and is my favorite version of that song.
I have to go to the podiatrist today with a nice big infection. Yikes I am so tired of this . I may not be around as much. Keep the porch light on, okay?

Good morning everyone,
Rev, I hope you'll be able to be with us again today. It was so wonderful having you here yesterday, it lifted up all of our spirits.
Thanks, Kris, for starting this today. I hope your van holds out for a couple more years. I'm still clinging to a 1988 Ford Escort that I bought when it was a year old. I planned to buy a newer car this year, but with the stock market plunge eating away at my retirement fund, I'm afraid to take out the money to do it. Fortunately, being retired, I don't have to drive much anymore.
I'm glad your migraine is gone Famin. Being an old fogy, whose first favorite rock and roll band was Bill Haley and the Comets, I'm not up on contemporary bands. The last one I paid any attention to was U2 back in the '80's. I do remember the Wiltern Theater very fondly, though. It's a beautiful venue.
I hope y'all have a great day.

Cindy - I'm sorry to hear about your foot trouble. I hope your podiatrist can clear it up soon.
Your mention of Sara McLachlan reminded me of her In the Arms of the Angel:
Spend all your time waiting for that second chance For the break that will make it OK There's always some reason to feel not good enough And it's hard at the end of the day I need some distraction or a beautiful release Memories seep from my veins Let me be empty and weightless and maybe I'll find some peace tonight
In the arms of the Angel far away from here From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie You're in the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here
So tired of the straight line, and everywhere you turn There's vultures and thieves at your back The storm keeps on twisting, you keep on building the lies That you make up for all that you lack It don't make no difference, escaping one last time It's easier to believe In this sweet madness, oh this glorious sadness That brings me to my knees
In the arms of the Angel far away from here From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie In the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here
You're in the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here
