My Big Fat Fall Schedule

Escapism101 inspired me to write up my own list for what I’m going to watch this fall. I think I will have another full schedule this year. Thankfully, I can record up to 6 things at one time (2 DVR’s and 2 DVD recorders) so I should be okay. I’m really proud of myself at how well I stayed caught up on all my summer shows, which was approximately 20 shows. I even had time to watch a few shows on DVD.

So, are you ready for this list? It’s pretty big but don’t be scared because I’m a big girl and can handle it.

MONDAY
8:00: Big Bang Theory
8:30: How I Met Your Mother
9:00: Heroes
9:30: Samantha Who? (check out Worst Week)
10:00: Californication (check out My Own Worst Enemy)

TUESDAY
8:00: House, Biggest Loser, Lincoln Heights (I think this is the timeslot it will be in)
(check out 90210 – can’t wait til Tuesday!)
9:00: Greek (check out Fringe, Privileged, The Mentalist*)
10:00: Eli Stone (adore this show), Law & Order: SVU

WEDNESDAY
8:00: Bones, America’s Next Top Model, Pushing Daisies, Old Christine
8:30: (check out Gary Unmarried)
9:00: Private Practice, Criminal Minds, Til Death (check out Stylista**)
9:30: (check out Do Not Disturb – but not hopeful)
10:00: Dirty Sexy Money, Lipstick Jungle

THURSDAY
8:00: Survivor, Ugly Betty
8:30: (check out Kath & Kim – but not hopeful)
9:00: Grey’s Anatomy, CSI, Supernatural
9:30: 30 Rock***
10:00: ER (check out Life On Mars & Eleventh Hour)

FRIDAY
8:00: Ghost Whisperer (check out Crusoe)
9:00: (check out The Ex List)

SUNDAY
8:00: The Amazing Race (check out Valentine – but not hopeful)
9:00: Desperate Housewives, Dexter (check out True Blood & Easy Money – but not hopeful on EM)
10:00: Brothers & Sisters, Entourage

NOTES: I’ve been recording Cold Case for the last 3 seasons and saving them on DVD but I am way behind. But I will continue to record it again this season.

*The Mentalist – I saw a small preview for this and I wasn’t impressed.

**Stylista – I’m always willing to check out a new reality show.

***30 Rock - I used to watch My Name Is Earl & 30 Rock but got behind on both last season. If I can get caught up on DVD before they start up again then I will watch them this season but if not, I’ll just catch them on DVD later on.

So, there you go. Let’s take a count. I plan on watching 32 returning favorites and checking out 17 new shows, which most of those probably won’t stick or get canned right as I’m getting into them. (grrr)

I can’t wait to see everyone else’s lists.

Hi Xandra,

As I said on CA's blog last night, I'm not thinking of my fall schedule right now--I've only gotten as far as next week when I'll be watching The Shield, Bones, and checking out Sons of Anarchy. Just thinking about fall makes my head hurt. I've just copies your schedule and left in the shows we'll both be watching.

MONDAY
8:30: How I Met Your Mother
9:30: Samantha Who?

TUESDAY
8:00: Lincoln Heights
10:00: Eli Stone (adore this show), Law & Order: SVU

WEDNESDAY
8:00: Bones, Pushing Daisies, Old Christine
9:00: Private Practice

THURSDAY
8:00: Ugly Betty
9:00: CSI, Supernatural
9:30: 30 Rock

FRIDAY
Right now, all I've got for Friday is Numb3rs.

SUNDAY
9:00: Desperate Housewives, Dexter
(I wish--don't get Showtime, but loved the first season run on CBS)

(check out True Blood--thankfully, since I live on the West Coast, I can watch that in the early evening on HBO's east coast feed)

NOTES: I’ve been recording Cold Case for the last 3 seasons and saving them on DVD but I am way behind. But I will continue to record it again this season.

Cold Case is one of my most must-see shows.

Marci: I watch Numb3rs too but I save it for DVD because I just couldn't squeeze another show into my schedule at the time. I just finished up Season 2.

Cold Case is one of my most must-see shows.

I was hoping I could get caught up w/ Season 4 & 5 over the summer so i could watch it this season but that was wishful thinking. I think I have watched two episodes all summer long. One of these days I'll get caught up, until then I'll just keep saving them to DVD.

I bet your local video store would have Dexter Season 2 to rent.

Seeing these schedules (and CA's too) makes me feel so much better about mine. I thought I watched too much tv, but it looks like I'm in very good company.

Marci... Dexter has become one of my favorite shows. I spoiled myself and got both HBO and Showtime, so I could keep up. Not to rub it in, but Dexter season 2 is even better than Dexter season 1 (if you can believe that!).

Speaking of premium channel series, does anybody else get Starz and are they planning on watching the new show Crash (based on the movie)?

Rod: Yes, I do plan on checking it out. I try to check any new show at least once. I did like the movie so I definitely want to check it out. Do you remember when it starts?

Me too, Skye! But not reality shows. Only scripted dramas and comedies.

According to the Futon Critic, Crash doesn't start until October 17th.

Xandra - I don't do the rental thing--too much pressure to get them watched. And, on my retirement income, I can't afford to buy DVD's of TV series.

So, I just watch what I can record on my DVR.

Rod - I do remember when you treated yourself to Showtime and HBO--a very wise decision for you. A friend has offered to burn the Dexter episodes onto DVD's for me, so I'll get a chance to see them eventually. I had to give up Showtime and STARZ so I could afford the DVR service. (I hope all you young'uns have a good retirement fund going, so you can enjoy all of your goodies when you quit working.)

Only scripted dramas and comedies.

Me too, Rod.

I've inspired someone! E'gads...that's never a good thing!!

I've started a band wagon!! Whoo Hoo!

Impressive, and at first glance daunting, list as usual, Skye. :)

Here's mine, it may not be complete because I can't remember some of the new ones that I plan on watching even with the grid you sent me...

Monday:
My Own Worst Enemy

Tues:
The Mentalist Although i'm not hopeful for that one.
Fringe
90201 Even tough I never fiished the first series.

Wed:
Knight Rider Cool car that talks and drives itself...nuff said lol.
I think...Gary Unmarried and Do Not Disturb

And that's pretty much it for the new shows, that's in addition to the slew of returning favs so i'm gonna be pretty well fed in regards to my time in front of the ol' boob tube hehe.

I'll have to give that some thought. LOL I don't like TV-aholics because that makes it sound like we have a problem and I DO NOT have a problem.

I'll keep thinking...

I don't have a problem, either, I can stop whenever I want. ;)

Yeah, right. Can't we all, kryptokid?:^O

Well, I can't think of a good name. Maybe something will come to me later.
